This is an all levels class that moves at a moderate pace. Hatha Yoga : Yoga’s physical postures and breathing exercises that develop strength, flexibility, balance, and grace. Continuing Yoga: : An eclectic yoga practice for students with a year or more experience. This class links breath to movement in the classic asanas. It creatively includes sun salutations, inversions, the bandhas and core strengthening with pranayama. Gentle Yoga: Yoga practiced at a gentle pace that is accessible to everyone. This class includes restorative poses, balance poses, and slow gentle work for feet, hips, shoulders and core strength. There is no weight bearing on the arms in this class. Men's Yoga : It's Yoga, just for guys. This is a beginner's yoga class designed specifically for a man's body. The class works with a consistent asana (posture) series. The series is designed to develop confidence and ease in the body. The practice is light and loose, invigorating and focused, and connects breath with movement. Pilates : Using the Pilates method as a base we work toward increasing, health, strength and flexibility in your body's core: abdomen, pelvic floor and back. The classic Pilates exercises are supplemented by use of props and yoga asana. This class promotes body awareness through basic movement principles that require focused direction of energy and breath. Class is cued with options for beginning and intermediate level students. Tapas Yoga: Tapas is the heat of self-discipline and action, the striving toward union with the divine. The Tapas Yoga practice will include sufficient Sun Salutations to build up your internal heat and challenge you into a deeper practice. For fit beginners and continuing studentsd. While this is class is an all levels yoga practice, it is not appropriate for those with severe injuries or significant limitations in mobility. The class begins and ends with a guided meditation or breathing exercise. Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissues and helps prepare the body for meditation. It is the ideal complement to more muscular or "Yang" forms of Yoga. Relaxed floor postures are held for a few minutes at a time, emphasizing the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. The class also incorporates pranayama and ends with a meditation. |
